New York Methodist Hospital
New York, NY
Challenge:

New York Methodist Hospital sought to convert a 19th century, three-story brownstone residence into a new spine and arthritis center equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. While wishing to create a technologically advanced facility, the hospital also wanted the center to offer a warm, home-like atmosphere.
Solution:

James, LaSala & Associates was engaged to provide programming, interior, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection design services for the new facility. Interior and exterior renovations included upgraded residential touches and ADA compliance renovations.
Additional Information:
New York Methodist Hospital's spine and arthritis center is the first of its kind in New York City. JLA was subsequently engaged by the Hospital to expand the facility.

Sphera Optical Network, Inc.
New York, NY
Challenge:

Sphera sought to deploy a nationwide, facilities-based communications network in a rapid, cost effective, error free manner while simultaneously “lighting” four Tier 1 cities - all in under six months.
Solution:

James, LaSala & Associates was engaged by Sphera to design, bid, and manage the construction of its facilities.
Additional Information:
Services provided by JLA included systematic search, survey, and report of qualified locations and recommendation for site selection; and design services from space allocation through bid documents.
JLA also provided CM services to expedite the construction process and eliminate the need for additional Sphera staff to support the build-outs.
All four Tier 1 cities were designed, constructed, and online in three months; twenty-five additional sites were also successfully completed on time and within budget.
